Fire Safety for your Home!

Recently there has been an increase of record breaking temperatures all over the country which means a high possibility of wildfires. The summer months are over but Santa Ana Winds and high temperatures are still likely to occur during the Fall season. September and October are high risk fire months in Southern California and being prepared is well worth the effort.

Don't take chances, Take Charge! This Month KRC Rock is promoting fire-wise landscaping and the awareness of defensible space initiatives. With proper maintenance and practices, you can keep your home and family safe and help reduce the spread of wild fire. Protect your home and family from potential fire hazards through "firescaping" and creating defensible spaces.

KRC Rock specialists are here to help you keep your residence "lean, clean and green" during Wildfire season.  The good news is, you don't need a lot of money to make your landscape fire safe. And you will find that a fire safe landscape can increase your property value and conserve water while beautifying your home.

Get creative with your firescaping by adding fire resistant elements such as boulders, driveway and patio pavers, rock mulch and unique water features to help distance your house from threatening flames.

Pondless Waterfall Seminar a Success!

It was a great turn out at Saturday's Pondless Waterfall Seminar! Several Landscape Architects, Homeowners,  and Contractors came out to KRC Rock San Marcos to get the scoop on planning, creating, and building a Pondless Waterfall. Professional Landscape Designer, Calvin Briers, of Advance Waterscape taught the early morning class in San Marcos.

A make shift slope (hill) was set-up in the front parking area of KRC Rock for customers to get a complete view of the build process. Calvin led the class with step-by-step instructions on building a waterfall and how to make it look natural. The class learned what types of products work best, how to lay the pond liner, tips on creating the water flow, and what size material and pond pump to use. Calvin answered questions, concerns, and gave expert tips on Doing-It-Yourself. At the end of the 2-hour seminar attendees experienced the look, sound and feel of a fully functioning pondless waterfall.

KRC Rock treated every guest to Pizza from our Outdoor Oven and hot dogs from the grill!
The Day was a Success! We hope you made it to this Fun Seminar and hope to see you at the next one! (KRC Rock Lakeside Pondless Waterfall Seminar on September 8th, 2012)
